This exhibition will hang in the Vidinghoff and Radnor Township Lobby Galleries during CraftForms and The CraftForms Companion Show.

Leslie Bowen serves as Juror of Selection.

Leslie Bowen holds her Bachelor of Science & Arts degree from Moore College of Art and received her MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Following her master’s program, Bowen taught at Millersville University and Lebanon Valley College where she received the Nevelyn J. Knisley Award for Inspirational Teaching. She has been awarded several grants which enabled her to study painting at the Paris American Academy, Southhampton College, and Salzburg International Summer Academy. Bowen is a painter, exhibits extensively and currently teaches at Wayne Art Center.  Her works can be seen in private and permanent public collections including The Women and Babies Hospital in Lancaster and The University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

Wayne Art Center is honored to include a painting by Quita Brodhead, Wayne Art Center founder in Attraction to Abstraction 2024.

Quita Brodhead was born in 1901 in Wilmington, Delaware. From 1919 to 1924 she studied with Daniel Garber, Hugh Breckenridge, Henry McCarter and Arthur B. Carles at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. A long-time Wayne resident, she was one of the founders of the Wayne Art Center in 1930.  Beginning in 1938 and continuing for the rest of her life, Brodhead exhibited frequently in galleries and museums with solo and group shows in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Paris, and Rome. Before her death in 2002 at 101, retrospective shows were held at Wayne Art Center, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The Hollis Taggart Galleries in New York, celebrating her 100th birthday.  Brodhead’s paintings can be found in over 20 museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, and the Delaware Art Museum.
